El Noi de la Mare (The Child of the Mother)

One of the most beautiful works written for guitar. It is believed to have been the piece sitting on Andrés Segovia’s music stand when he passed away in 1987.

Francisco Tárrega – Adelita

The ubiquitous “Adelita” by Francisco Tárrega is one of the most popular works for the guitar, and is standard repertoire for the intermediate guitarist.

Reis – Se Ela Peguntar

A very sad/emotional work by Brazilian guitar composer Dilermando Reis, whose works have popularized in recent years. There are tremendous recordings of this piece on world-renowned David Russell’s “Aire Latino” CD which won a Grammy in 2005 as well as by Ricardo Cobo (winner of the prestigious Guitar Foundation of America Solo International Competition in 1987).

Ivanov-Kramsky – Lullaby

A little known work by Russian composer Alexander Ivanov-Kramskoi. I first heard this work on Japanese guitarist Kazuhito Yamashita’s “Kazuhito Yamashita Plays His Favorites” recording set. This work is arranged by Matanya Ophee. I opted not to play the harmonics section.

Albeniz-Capricho Catalan

One of Isaac Albéniz’s most beautiful piano works, transcribed for guitar by Michael Lorimer.

Albeniz – Cadiz

A work I began learning in early 2014. Julian Bream’s recording inspired me to work on this piece
